Refreshing Springs Day Spa is a minority-owned self-care center. Its mission is to provide exceptional spa services that feed the mind, body, and Spirit while being sensitive and receptive to the client’s needs.

Refreshing Springs will ensure that the sacred space and time that is shared during client’s sessions provide an escape and an opportunity to relax; and that the time shared is honored to build lasting and caring relationships.

The goal is to grow, thrive, and prosper in the immediate community.

Protocols

In April 2021, after a 30+ year career in banking, I decided to resign and became part of the “Great Resignation”. I didn’t know where God was taking me, but I trusted Him. I took time off, sat still (hard for me to do), prayed, listened, journaled, set intentions, and vacationed. In March of 2022 I enrolled in school to obtain my certification as an Esthetician. I still didn’t know what my next chapter looked like but the manifestation of my prayers and visualization started to unfold and let me say that God is amazing! In May 2022, my life partner and I purchased a commercial space and with the love and support from my village, the idea of owning my own day spa became a reality.

In July 2022, I completed my certification as an Esthetician and in September 2022 I passed the Maryland State Board and received my Esthetician License. In December 2022, Refreshing Springs Day Spa opened its doors to close friends and family. In January 2023, I had my official ribbon cutting and opening celebration.

Refreshing Springs Day Spa is a self-funded, minority owned self-care center. My goal is to provide self-care services to clients in Prince George’s County (where I also reside), and surrounding communities. Along the way, I intend to teach and be an example of how important self-care is for the mind, body, and soul.

Business is great. I am thankful for the support of our clients and our community. Owning a business is hard work, but as it is said, “if you’re doing a job that you love, it’s not work”. I love what I do, and I will continue to seek opportunities to expand and serve right here in Prince George’s County.
